From December 1 to 4, 2025, the 9th CAREC Think Tank Development Forum of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program was held in Urumqi, People’s Republic of China. The Tajik State University of Commerce was represented by the Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations, Associate Professor Jamshed Nematulloevich Mashokirov.
The Forum, held under the theme “Accelerating the Transformative Effect of Green Initiatives through Innovative Financing Mechanisms in the CAREC Region”, brought together representatives of research institutions, universities, government agencies of CAREC member countries, as well as international project leaders.
As a CAREC Think Tank Network Research Grant Recipient, Vice-Rector Mashokirov presented the results of his scientific research on innovative financing mechanisms for green economy initiatives in Central Asian countries during the main plenary session. His presentation received strong interest and positive feedback from the participants.
Participation of the TSUC representative contributed to: strengthening the university’s international standing within the CAREC network; expanding research cooperation with institutions and universities of member states; promoting scientific achievements of Tajik researchers in green economy and sustainable development; creating new opportunities for collaboration and funding of research projects in economics, commerce, and management.
The Forum was organized by the CAREC Institute, one of the most significant regional research platforms. As an active member of the CAREC Think Tank Network, TSUC regularly participates in CAREC programs, studies, and academic events. The Tajik State University of Commerce remains committed to expanding cooperation with CAREC and other international partners to advance research and academic projects in sustainable development.
During the Forum, Associate Professor Mashokirov also gave interviews to Chinese television channels, where he elaborated on the prospects of implementing green economy initiatives, the role of universities in sustainable development, and TSUC’s readiness to expand cooperation with higher education institutions of the People’s Republic of China. His interview contributed to strengthening academic and scientific ties between the two countries and enhancing the international image of TSUC.
