On November 4, 2025, a seminar-training on “Developing Priority Research Projects in the Republic of Tajikistan” was held at the Tajik State University of Commerce at the initiative of the Department of International Cooperation, Project Implementation, and Academic Exchange.
The purpose of this seminar is to improve the knowledge and skills of Tajik State University of Commerce staff in the preparation and implementation of priority research projects in accordance with the Rules for Financing Priority Research Projects in the Republic of Tajikistan (Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated December 26, 2024, No. 684).
The seminar aimed to familiarize staff with the requirements, process, and practical opportunities for funding research projects through the state budget, grants, and targeted programs, as well as to provide practical knowledge on the procedure for preparing and submitting applications for participation in national competitions.
The seminar was attended by Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations, Associate Professor Jamshed Mashokirov, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Project Implementation, and Academic Exchange, Candidate of Technical Sciences Bakhtiyor Abdulloev and departments’ heads, faculty, and young researchers.
The main goal of the seminar was to enhance the participants' knowledge, skills, and competencies in the preparation, development, and implementation of scientific and research projects. This will contribute to strengthening the university's scientific and innovative potential and promoting cooperation with international organizations and development partners.
The following topics were discussed during the seminar:
- General rules for funding priority research projects in the Republic of Tajikistan;
- Fundamentals and stages of developing research projects;
- Methods of attracting funding from government and international organizations;
- Effective use of scientific results in economics, trade, and entrepreneurship ;
- Strengthening human resources in scientific project management ;
- Methodology for developing key project components (goal, objectives, results, cost estimate, etc.).
In his opening speech, Associate Professor Jamshed Mashokirov emphasized the importance of developing scientific activity and leveraging global experience in developing innovative projects, noting that training qualified specialists in scientific project management plays a key role in enhancing the university's competitiveness at the national and international levels.
Bakhtiyor Abdulloev, Head of the International Relations presented detailed information on practical project development mechanisms, the procedure for submitting and registering grant applications, and the conditions for participation in international competitions. He emphasized that to successfully attract funding from foreign donors, it is important for researchers to have a good understanding of international standards and the requirements of funding organizations.
During the seminar, participants expressed their opinions on existing challenges in project development, solutions, and opportunities for collaboration with international research centers. In conclusion, the participants noted the importance of holding such an event to strengthen scientific potential, provide practical training to researchers, ensure the development of innovative activities, and improve the knowledge and skills of employees in this field.
