Every year in the Republic of Tajikistan, the “Day of Tajik Science” is traditionally celebrated every third week of April.

In order to celebrate the “Day of Tajik Science” at a high level, the management of the Tajik State University of Commerce is organizing a “Science Week” from April 21 to 26, within the framework of which a scientific and theoretical conference of teachers and students, competitions, clubs and other scientific events are planned.

Today (21.04.2025) a plenary session of the scientific and theoretical conference of teachers and students was held, dedicated to 2025-2030, "Years of Development of the Digital Economy and Innovations", which was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Khoshimzoda Homid Hasan, Deputy Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Sharifzoda Mumin Mashokir, who headed the university in 2008-2017, as well as former rectors of the university, Doctor of Economics, Professors Boboev Olimjon Boboevich and Fakerov Hamidullokhon Nuriddinovich.

The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Jamshed Mashokrov, who assessed the important role of science in the development of the national economy and the prosperity of our beloved country. Then the floor was given to the First Deputy, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Kurbonov Abdukarim Rakhimovich, where he congratulated all the guests and those present on the beginning of the "Science Week" and highly appreciated the significant role and contribution of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon in creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of domestic science and the promotion of research work.

It was also noted that in 2024, 543 scientific works of teachers were published at the Tajik State University of Commerce, including 10 monographs, 154 articles in peer-reviewed journals of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan, 244 abstracts of articles at international and national conferences, as well as 135 articles published in various journals.

In 2024, 9 university teachers defended their scientific dissertations, 2 passed the preliminary defense of doctoral dissertations, and 7 passed the preliminary defense of candidate dissertations.

According to the Science Week program, which includes 13 sections, 153 presentations by teachers and 270 presentations by students will be discussed.

At the same time, it was noted that in 2024, at the initiative of the Science and Innovation Department, a section was opened on the university's official website demonstrating published materials of the university's research staff. This initiative is aimed at expanding the possibilities of digitalization of education and adapting the education sector to global standards.

According to the long-term plan of scientific research work for 2021-2025, registered in the National Patent and Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan, the university's teaching staff conducts scientific research in 5 areas, 20 topics and 382 subtopics.

During the conference, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Khoshimzoda Homid Hasan, former rectors of the university, Doctor of Economics, Professors Boboev Olimjon Boboevich, Fakerov Hamidullokhon Nuriddinovich, Sharifzoda Mumin Mashokir spoke about the importance and role of science in the development of the country's economy, called on students to study natural sciences, languages, and modern information technologies.

Next, PhD in Economics, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Labor Economics Abdurakhmon Hakimzoda made a substantive report on the topic “Problems of Digital Marketing Development in the Republic of Tajikistan” and, using specific examples, expressed his thoughts on the importance, problems and prospects for the development of digital marketing in the country.

At the end of the plenary session, university teachers Shakhnoza Pulatova, Komiljon Alimov and Rustamzoda Firuz were awarded associate professor diplomas and memorable gifts.

From the second half of the day, the conference will proceed according to the program and will last until April 26 of this year.
