Since 2023, TSUC has been a partner in the Central Asia project “MOCCA: Multi-level Orders of Corruption in Central Asia” coordinated by Lund University, Sweden. MOCCA is a research and staff exchange programme intended to contribute to the global and national efforts of understanding and counteracting corruption by conducting interdisciplinary research on the multilevel orders of corruption in five countries in Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. MOCCA is a 4-year research and staff exchange project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon program.
From August 16 to October 16, 2024, two representatives of TSUC, Professor of the Department of Economics and Business Kadyrova Z.Kh. and Associate Professor of the same department Ismatulloev I.U. completed secondments in Lund University, Sweden and Charles University, Czech Republic.
During the secondments, there was a unique opportunity to discuss the topic and methodology of the research at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Lund and Charles Universities, with colleagues from the Tashkent State University of Economics, Tashkent State University of Law, Istanbul Medipol University, Turkey, who also simultaneously participated in secondments program in Lund and Prague. TSUC secondments used the rich collection of scientific literature in the libraries, including the electronic sources of host universities, and took part in the defense process of a postgraduate student from the social science department of Lund University.
It was a chance to give a lecture to students on the topics related to economics and entrepreneurship and introducing of Tajikistan at the Department of Russian and East European Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague.
In addition, during the secondment at Charles University, TSUC secondments met with representatives of two leading universities in Prague - the Metropolitan University of Prague and the Prague University of Economics (HSE), specializing in economics and business issues. The meetings discussed issues of economics and business education, methodological and research activities in universities, and opportunities for further cooperation.
At the end of October, a seminar with secondments will be held at which the research results will be presented.
