On September 18, 2024, the national office of Erasmus+ in Tajikistan held an advertising and informational event on the topic "The global trend of education development and the third mission of universities" at the Tajikistan State University of Commerce.
The coordinator of the Erasmus+ program in Tajikistan, Ph.D. Mohbonu Nakhatzoda, and representatives of other institutions of higher professional education of the Republic of Tajikistan from Khatlon and Sughd regions took part in the event in person and virtually (online).
The event was opened by the deputy rector for science and international relations of the Tajik State University of Trade, docent, Jamshed Mashokirov, who stated that the third mission of universities is not only academic and scientific development but also the active contribution of universities to the life of society and the economic and social development of the country. In this process, universities can play an important role in the development of society with social initiatives and beneficial cooperation with the main sectors of the economy and civil society.
Also, at the round table, Professor Sharopov Farhod Razoqovich, Deputy Rector for Strategic Development and Quality Management of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, on the topic "Global trends in the development of higher education," and Saidkosim Mukhtorov, Head of the International Center of the Institute of Economics and TSUC Trade in Khujand, gave a speech on the topic "Third Mission of Universities: Contribution of Universities to Society" and expressed that the ultimate goal of the third mission of universities is to play an effective role in international cooperation, implementation of projects, and academic exchange.
In this event, the representative of the European Union in the field of education, Mrs. Diana Dimova, participated and gave a speech.
During the negotiations, Ikrom Khurshed Ikrom, Deputy Rector for International Relations of the Technological University of Tajikistan, Safarov Bahrom Gulmatovich, Deputy Rector for International Relations of the Tajikistan State University of Finance and Economics, and other representatives of the foreign relations department of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan made specific recommendations and suggestions. .
The holding of this event by the Erasmus+ national office in Tajikistan emphasizes the importance of the integration of Tajikistan's universities into the international educational space through Erasmus+ opportunities and participation in international seminars.
