On May 25, 2024, the Erasmus+ national office in Tajikistan held an information day under the title Workstream: Erasmus+ Info Day “Overview of the Erasmus+ Program: Opportunities and Impact” at the Tajikistan State University of Commerce.

The representative of the European Union in the field of education, Ms. Diana Dimova, coordinator of the Erasmus+ program in Tajikistan, Ph.D. MohbonuNakhatzoda, and representatives of other universities and institutes from Khatlon and Sughd regions joined the session in person and online.

The event was started by the Vice Rector for Science and International Relations of the Tajik State University of Commerce, Dr. Jamshed Mashokirov, and then he gave the speech to the participants to continue the session.

It should be noted that the Erasmus+ program is a European Union (EU) program aimed at supporting education, training, and academic mobility exchanges in the EU’s universities. The program offers a variety of educational, training, volunteer, and internship opportunities for students, teachers, and staff in educational fields.

The following issues were discussed at the Erasmus+ Info Day:

-presentation of the Erasmus+ program: opportunities and main advantages;

-the Erasmus+ program for the development of higher education in the Republic of Tajikistan and its importance;

-assessment of the impact of Erasmus+ projects on the higher professional education system of the Republic of Tajikistan;

-procedure for submission of applications and selection criteria;

-grant support and project financing;

-successful experience: experience of program participants;

-review of available opportunities for higher education professionals in the Republic of Tajikistan, teachers, and students;

-opinions of Erasmus+ participants about their successes;

-questions and answers: expert advice.

The purpose of the event is to attract the attention of students, postgraduates, and scientific and research circles of higher professional institutions in the country to participate in the Erasmus+ Program. The Erasmus+ exchange program is one of the best opportunities for students to study abroad.
