The adoption of "November 16" as a holiday is symbolic, and it is dedicated to the first time by the first President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, who was elected on the basis of the Constitution adopted by a national referendum and took the oath of allegiance on November 16, 1994.

It was noted that by the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Holidays” dated May 22, 2016, November 16 was recognized as the “Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan”. The greatness of the Tajik nation lies in the fact that despite the many struggles waged by foreign enemies over the centuries to eradicate this ancient nation, the name and symbol of the Tajik nation were still being lost. Its name was preserved and revived by its illustrious descendants with their wisdom, virtue, and global status. It should be emphasized that the historical achievement of the early 1980s, when the Tajik nation regained its great happiness - state independence, was made possible by its wise descendants.

It can be said without a doubt that in yesterday's history, when the sun of happiness once again shone on the face of the Tajik nation, we achieved a great achievement - state independence. In this process, the role of the great son of the nation, who in sensitive moments risked his life for his people, was played by this great person, the esteemed President of the country, Emomali Rahmon. Today, with these feats, he has found his way into the hearts of young and old, young and old, of the country.

As is known, state independence brought many changes to the life and work of the people. One of the fundamental achievements that we achieved during the Independence era precisely under the leadership of this patriot, politician, and wise man is the constitutional reform. In 1994, the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was developed and adopted in a new edition, which from then on allowed the people to hope for a good future for the country and begin to live with a warm heart. The Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan was adopted on November 6, 1994 through a nationwide referendum. And as the country's basic law, it became a fateful document. It laid a solid foundation for all further progress. Based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, a national state system was ensured, and the Republic of Tajikistan was defined as a democratic, secular, law-based, and unitary state.

Due to his great historical services to the people and state of Tajikistan, with the ever-increasing efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, has a worthy place and high status. It is enough to briefly list the noble and worthy qualities and good and constructive actions of this chosen representative of the nation and a great man of the world of politics, to highlight the image of this person as the representative of the nation in the mirror of humanity. Because in a short time, extinguishing the inhuman flames of the civil war, which claimed the lives of 150 thousand people, made more than a million people homeless and refugees. Only this great person was able to unite the scattered and scattered Tajik people in the terrible days of the country, which was not an easy task!

In this way, the President risked his life and saved the life of the nation from this terrible, genocidal event. Because without peace and strengthening security, the creation of a democratic and just society was impossible, and the implementation of the slogan "I bring you peace" paved the way for the creation of a secular, law-based society.

After more than a thousand years, the Tajik people regained their independent national state and acquired a special status and position. For the nation, this was a rare fortune and a very great, joyful, and proud event. During the period of state independence, the Tajik people achieved a number of unique achievements. The construction of large industrial enterprises, hydroelectric power stations, tunnels, large densely populated cities, and other successes.

In the world arena, more than 145 countries recognize, recognize, and accept the Republic of Tajikistan as an independent state. The Republic of Tajikistan has diplomatic relations with 119 countries and states of the world and trade relations with more than 100 countries and states.

In fact, during the 29 years of independence, our republic has achieved significant development.

Strengthening peace, stability, and prosperity of our beloved homeland is a unique gem for each of us, and we should be proud of our ancestral land, the main axis of strengthening peace, stability, and development of Tajikistan originates from the policy pursued by the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon.

All this, together with other aspects of the country's development, including education, healthcare, social protection, attention to poor families, and attention to gifted children, is being implemented thanks to the wise, far-sighted, patriotic policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, which deserves due recognition.

It was in recognition of all these hard work of our President that the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, on April 15, 2016, amended the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Holidays”, according to which November 16 is celebrated in the country as the “Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan”. This blessed date was directly linked to November 16, 1994, as the day of the first inauguration of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.

The celebration of this day is not just a celebration. On the one hand, it is a tribute to the unique service of the Leader of the Nation, on the other hand, it is a demonstration of national unity and potential, a symbol of the unity of the people of the country around the creative ideas of their leader, the correct understanding of the programs of the beloved leader of the nation by the people, and the collective efforts of all of us to implement the programs.

This enlightened thinker modestly but sincerely stated at the inauguration ceremony as the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on October 30, 2020, that “I have reached this position thanks to the bread and salt of my great people. "I have seen so much love, sincerity, and kindness from the youth and youth of Tajikistan, and I serve such a dear and kind people day and night faithfully, with a clear conscience, good hands, heart, and intentions, and with all my being." In every word and phrase of this quote, one can find a good deed and righteous deed, and more importantly, being a part of the people and having a sincere love for the nation.

Fortunately, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is gradually creating the political, economic, social, and legal basis for achieving a decent life for all residents of the republic, which is the highest goal of the State and Government of Tajikistan.
